MLTF Fields with Structure by Tempo for Enhanced Project Management

Structure by Tempo - Integration

Multi Level and Tree Fields is compatible with Structure by Tempo, one of the most powerful project portfolio management apps on the Atlassian Marketplace. This integration was developed by the Tempo team, bringing MLTF field support directly into Structure's grouping capabilities.

Grouping Issues by MLTF Fields in Structure

You can now group work items in any Structure view using your MLTF fields — giving you a hierarchical, organized breakdown of your backlog or portfolio based on the structured data you've already captured.

To set up grouping by an MLTF field:

Open your Structure view and click Add → Group.
In the Create Group Generator dialog, select Formula as the group rule type.
In the formula editor, type your MLTF field name. The autocomplete will suggest all available MLTF field — including Cascading, Multi, Tree Single, Path Multi, and Path Single versions of your field.
Select the variant you want to group by and save the formula. Your issues will immediately be grouped according to the selected MLTF field values.

Formula Reference

Use the following syntax depending on your field type:

Single Select	`<fieldName>.value`	`<fieldName>.path`
Multi Select	`<fieldName>.values`	`<fieldName>.paths`

💡 Tip: Use .path or .paths to group by the complete hierarchy path — for example productarea.path will group issues by their full selection such as Mobile/iOS/iOS Core. Use .value or .values to group by the selected option label only, without the full path context.

⚠️ Note: Structure by Tempo is a separate app available on the Atlassian Marketplace. This integration requires both Multi Level and Tree Fields and Structure by Tempo to be installed on your Jira instance.
